The village of Stoikite set up as an independent community in 1878, of which testifies the seal on the letters to Kapitan Petko Voyvoda and the memorandum (annals) of the municipal council of Shiroka Laka.

Stoyan Tormanov was the first elected Mayor.

After many troubles in the social and political life of the country in the course of time, now Stoikite is an independent estate, which serves the population and the guests of the village.
